![]() ![]() ![]() after half a day of "check-update-reboot-repeat") setting up a clean Win7 (64bit English version - yes, properly registered) VM. Not to say it's bug-free, but I've not heard of AppLocale messing up (ever since mirror moon relesased UBW all those years ago at least). It was released by Microsoft a while back after some complaints about non-unicode software compatability. I've not read of AppLocale messing up the registry. In my case, I run the visual novels via AppLocale (Japanese) and keep the laptop locale unchanged (Korean). Needless to say, I'm personally (and I'm sure others) not fans of changing the locale via Control Panel when we want to run a variety of software with differing locales. My laptop is currently on the Korean locale (some work software I use require this). Especially useful if you run various non-unicode software intended for various regions, and don't want to reboot the OS everytime you switch between said sofware. I have only found one program that I can't run in "weeaboo mode" and that's just a game I don't play often, so I pretty much stay in this mode all the time.Applocale, in a nutshell enables older, non-unicode software (ie, visual novels such as F/sn and F/ha, and quite a large number of other offerings from other companies) to run properly without the need of switching locale from Control Panel. Well, either way I just switch to Japanese language mode. I was under the impression that it could fuck up your Registry? Hmm, are people actually suggesting to use Aplocale? ![]()
